Ski Moms Visit Big Snow American Dream (Indoor Skiing in Rutherford, NJ)
In this episode Nicole and Sarah take a trip to Big Snow, American Dream in Rutherford, New Jersey, the only indoor skiing and riding facility in North America with actual snow. Their clever and novel business model is suited to beginners and seasoned skiers alike. Big Snow is a great place to learn and a perfect spot to tap into a ski-lover’s thirst for snowy escapes.
Big Snow includes 4 skiable acres, a veritable drop of 160 ft and 4 chair/surface lifts.
The entire process from buying your ski package online to getting your rental gear set up and hitting the snow was very streamlined and well organized. There were friendly, helpful staff members throughout the facility.
After skiing a few hours we met with Trish McLeod, Director of Resorts Sales & Marketing at Snow Partners (the parent company of Big Snow). Trish shares her insights into Big Snow’s goal to grow participation in snow sports by making it affordable and accessible. Their terrain based learning model guides new skiers and riders through their first turns in a way that is both safe and fun.
The Snow Day Package includes everything you need to ski from outerwear to equipment and even complementary lessons. The only thing you need to bring are your gloves or mittens and socks, and if you do not have those The Shop at Big Snow has one of the largest selections we have ever seen at a ski shop.
Big Snow offers a variety of ski and ride access packages from one time to monthly subscriptions.
Big Snow has a very welcoming and positive atmosphere and is proud to be the most socially and ethnically diverse ski area in the world!
